Water submeter billing for small apartment owners.
If your units have water submeters, MeterPic turns a photo of each one into an accurate tenant water bill, without hiring a third-party billing company.
No new hardware. Works on any phone.
The problem
Small buildings, same billing headache.
Billing companies built for big complexes
Third-party billing is priced and built for hundreds of units, not a duplex or a 20-unit building.
Splitting the bill by formula
Dividing the water bill by unit or occupant feels unfair to light users. Submeter readings bill on actual use.
Tenants questioning the bill
Every charge comes with a dated photo of the meter it was read from.
How it works
Three steps, once a month.
Step 1: Snap
Photograph each meter on your route. The reading, date, and time are saved with the photo.
Step 2: Calculate
Charges are figured from your water rates, with odd readings flagged.
Step 3: Bill
Export charges to your rent software or send simple resident bills.
FAQ
Questions owners ask us.
Do I need new meters?
No. If each unit already has a water submeter, MeterPic works with it.
My units don't have submeters. Can I still use it?
Not yet. MeterPic bills from meter readings, so each unit needs its own meter.
Is it legal to bill residents for water?
Many states allow it when meters and bills follow their submetering rules. We're starting with Texas and building rate and fee settings to help you follow your local requirements. MeterPic isn't legal advice, so confirm your obligations with your state regulator.
